The New York Times published an article yesterday regarding the relatively new facet of book publishing that is creating a new market for book designers. Online book publishing at sites like Blurb.com or Lulu.com, allow anyone who can operate a mouse, a license to create a simple book in an edition as small as one. What people are newly discovering however, is how the value of a skilled book designer far outweighs the costs in many cases, so it is providing a niche market for professional designers of books. I see the seeds of a great marketing opportunity here folks! Not only that; you can create a very nice capability book for a client or even a portfolio for yourself at one of these online book publishers.
